We had the good fortune of connecting with Julia Wang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julia, What’s the Most Important Lesson Your Business/Career Has Taught You?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned is to always be your authentic self. When I first started off in Real Estate, there were a lot of times that I would pretend to be someone I was not and played the part of the perfect cookie-cutter ‘Agent’. Several years back, I made a decision to be 100% my true self and that is when my business really exploded and took off. I’ve realized that not everyone is going to like me and that is okay because I am attracting the clients that I actually choose to work with. I am a huge fan of polarization marketing and it’s become a staple of how I run my business and social media, which are intricately tied together.
Alright, so for Those in Our Community Who Might Not Be Familiar With Your Business, Can You Tell Us More?
I am the Broker of NextGen Real Estate and we are unlike any brokerage in Houston. As our name suggests, we are the next generation of agents that rely on social media, technology, and innovative and out-of-the-box marketing tactics to sell our homes. We are far from cookie-cutter and I encourage every agent to be themselves and build their own unique brand. At our brokerage, the focus is always on the agents and giving them the tools to grow and become successful.
If You Had a Friend Visiting You, What Are Some of the Local Spots You’d Want to Take Them Around To?
I definitely would recommend they stay at the Post Oak Hotel because it is one of the most beautiful hotels in this country. From there, they should dine at Bloom & Bee and have drinks at the Oak Room. For shopping, River Oaks District is right around the corner where they can shop until they drop! If they are feeling adventurous, definitely recommend having authentic Indian food at Himalaya on Harwin or taking the trek out to Chinatown for some cheap but delicious authentic Asian food.
Shoutout Is All About Shouting Out Others Who You Feel Deserve Additional Recognition and Exposure. Who Would You Like to Shout Out?
I want to give a shout-out to the book ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay because it changed my life. It helped me heal from all the trauma in my childhood, learn to love myself, and become the confident and successful entrepreneur and businesswoman I am today.
